Eva Watson

Eva passed away peacefully on December 28, 2011 at Park Manor Care Home with family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her five children Hazel Watson (Doug Kelly), Alan (Barb), Janet Mathewson (David), John & Mike (Michelle). She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Christopher & Angela Kelly, Carla & Ashley Watson, Stephanie & Eleanor Mathewson, and Travis, Braiden & Paetyn Watson.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years Ernest in 1998. Mum was born on June 30, 1925 in Stockton on Tees in England. She arrived in Winnipeg in 1952 and together with Ernest they settled in St. James where she lived and raised the family until moving to Park Manor. Mum will be remembered for her generous laughter, warm heart and caring spirit. She enjoyed making Sunday family dinners a wonderful time for her children and grandchildren to get together. Mum was a talented baker with everyone looking forward to sampling her pastries and dainties. In her limited spare time raising five children, she also enjoyed reading, needlepoint and knitting.

According with Mum’s wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be interned with her husband at a later date.

The family will be gathering for a private service of remembrance at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home on January 13, 2011.
