Doris Audrey Lohr

Peacefully on October 18, 2010 Audrey passed away at the age of 85. Audrey will be deeply missed by her children Patti (Bruce) and Glenn (Kim) and grandchildren Christopher, John, and Shanlee Rutherford and Crystal Lohr. Also left to mourn her loss is her brother Al and his family. Audrey was predeceased by her loving husband Bill and her sister Norma. Audrey grew up in Elphinstone, Manitoba where she loved the life of skiing, tobogganing and swimming in the Minnedosa River. After high school she moved to Winnipeg where she went to Success Business School to study accounting. Mom had a sharp mind for numbers and over the years worked part-time and full time in the accounting field, retiring from Manitoba Pool Elevators in 1981. What Mom loved most was to be at home, singing along with the music, and baking. She always had time for her children and grand-children making sure she never ran out of home made cookies. Her friends loved to come to her home for a square dance party, the best part being the food after. Mom was a wonderful conversationalist on any topic and made friends so easily. She will be missed by many. Mom, we thank you for giving us the most precious gifts of all, your time and your values. We will love you forever; until we meet again. A celebration of Audrey's life will take place on Friday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
