It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Anne Schmidt age 92 years, on July 12, 2016. She died peacefully with family surrounding her at the Charleswood Care Centre. Anne was predeceased by her husband John in 2004.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters and their husbands, Elaine and Harry Dyck, and Lorraine and Frank Fast. She is also survived by five grandchildren, their spouses, and nine great-grandchildren. Anne also leaves behind three sister-in-law’s, Kay Laroque, Anne Klassen, Anne Doerksen, and many nieces and nephews.
Mom will be remembered for her beautiful smile, and her kindness to everyone she encountered. She was the guiding light for her family, and set the example of what a good wife, mother, and friend should be. Mom was always patient and did her best. Her love for her family was unconditional. Anne believed God was with her no matter what storms would come her way, and she prayed daily for her family. As she became weaker and weaker, her faith was steadfast, knowing God would be there to carry her safely to Heaven.
We would like to thank the special nurses and health care aids in Wing 3 at the Charleswood Care Centre for their exceptional care and Kindness.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 19th at 1:00pm at Springstein Mennonite Church, Springstein, Manitoba, with burial at the Springstein Cemetery. Viewing will be held prior to the service. Because Anne always gave to so many different charities, her favourite being scientific research, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
“Peacefully sleeping, resting at last,
Her weary trials and trouble are past,
In silence she suffered, in patience she bore,
Till God called her home to suffer no more.”
