With profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of our Amy Lynne. On September 18th Amy lost her battle with alcohol addiction and is now truly at peace.
Amy is survived by her beautiful boys Roscoe and Christopher Nicholson (Dad Scott). She loved her boys with all her heart and soul, and was so very proud of them. Amy was a very creative and imaginative Mom, always finding something or somewhere fun to go with her handsome sons. Rosco and Christopher are surrounded with amazing love and support by Scott and Ivy and our families and friends.
Amy was predeceased by her big brother Jason Christopher on December 15, 1994. Amy adored and admired her brother and the feelings were mutual. They were each other's best friend. Amy would brag about Jason co-hosting the Children's Hospital Miracle Telethon each fall with Scott Oake. Due to Jason's battle with Cystic Fibrosis, Amy's life was quite often disrupted and she surely felt that she was in the background. Amy never showed that and was always eager to visit her brother, even when Jason would not share his bright green hospital jello. We know that Amy is laughing and smiling with her big brother Jason and is safe and protected in his arms.
Amy was also predeceased by her great-grandmother Bernadette Dheilley (GAGA) and her grandmother Mary Ducharme. Amy leaves to mourn her mother Rhonda (nee Conway) and father Douglas Ducharme; her grandparents Norman & Leona Izzard, please respect that as a family we have decided not to tell Mom & Dad about Amy's passing due to their health. Amy is loved and will be, missed by her many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and second cousins, too many to mention by name.
Even before Amy came into our life's she was displaying her strong spirit, Amy decided she did not want to be a May baby and after two false starts and 3 weeks late she was born on a beautiful June morning with all the birds singing and the smell of fresh mown grass!!
Amy lived in Lorette, St. Adolphe and Winnipeg. She was a graduate of Vincent Massey Collegiate and was very excited about her graduation from the University of Manitoba. Upon graduation Amy accepted a position with WRHA as a resource coordinator, Amy loved her career and had left so many memories with her co-workers and clients.
Amy was so many wonderful things, she was an amazing and loving mother, intelligent, incredibly beautiful, so elegant, she was so wickedly funny and silly, her smile and laugh were contagious, you couldn't help but laugh with her, she absolutely lit up the room when she entered. If you were lucky enough to become her friend, you had a friend for life. In the end alcoholism took so many of these things from Amy until it took the sunshine of her spirit and then took her life.
A Celebration of Life for Amy will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Due to Covid-19 restrictions attendance is limited. For those who wish, the livestreamed service may be viewed by following this link: https://youtu.be/_GstCaCjxYk
