February 20, 1935 – December 7, 2018
It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the passing of my mom, Gerda Bormann. She passed on Friday December 7, 2018 at the age of 83, reunited with her husband Gerhard (2000) whom she missed terribly. Cherished mother of Ellen (Tom) Grimes and Karen Radford. Proud oma of Kyrsten (James) and Mathew. Dear sister of Ursula (Eddy 2014) Rossini, Johnny (2007; Phil 2015) Kressmann, Willi (Margot 2012) Kressmann. Dear sister-in-law of Maria (Willy 2008) Trittler, Erich (Mary) Bormann, Bruno (Sharon) Bormann, Frieda (Otto 2017) Schwengsbier, and Hilda (Abraham) Dewaal. Special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Gerda was known for her thoughtfulness and touched the lives of many people. Her smile could light up any room like a ray of sunshine. She warmed the hearts of many with that endless smile. She embodied the true meaning of generosity and kindness, always ready to help wherever she was needed; she saw the best in everyone. Gerda was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was the President of the Seniors Group for several years. Even as her health declined, and she couldn’t attend any longer, she continued to keep the church and her seniors in her heart.
Visitation at Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre (1969 Wyandotte St. E., Windsor) on Thursday December 13, 2018 at 2 – 4PM and 7 – 9PM. Funeral Service at Trinity Lutheran Church (1215 Parent Ave., Windsor) on Friday December 14, 2018 at 11AM. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens Cemetery (1185 ON-3, Oldcastle). As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor-Essex or the Downtown Mission.
