LYND, Bertha (nee Gilker), 68 years, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2011. Beloved wife of 46 years to Bill. Loving Mom to Cathy (Fred Gutz), Paul (Micheline) and Donna. Very proud grandmother to Shannon, Ethan and Liam. Daughter of the late Arthur and Lena Gilker. Dear sister to Beth Gilker and Ruth Appleby (Danny). She will be sadly missed by her many relatives and friends. Bertha was a graduate from the 1963 class of the Grace Hospital School of Nursing, and worked for the Grace Hospital and Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital for many years. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Special thanks to all the nurses and staff at Chateau Park Nursing Home. Friends may visit Monday, January 24, 2011, at 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. and 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at the Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home, 1969 Wyandotte Street East, Windsor. A Beta Sigma Phi Service will be held at 7:30p.m. Monday evening. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel Tuesday, january 25, 2011, at 11:00a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
