Alexander Frank Herrick

92 years. Passed away peacefully at WRH Met Campus on Friday, August 10, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Jean (nee Volodin)(2001). Loving companion of Margaret Lassaline. Dear father of Frances Herrick, SNJM, Virginia & Guy Durand, Donna Marie & Wesley Aylesworth, Theresa & Ron Ljubicic, Rose & Brent Harrison. Loving grandfather of Jason, Matthew, Jennifer, Kimberly, Pamela, Mark, Natalie, Christopher, Sarah, Lisa and great grandfather of Ian, Ryan, Casey, Jessica, Holly, Alex and Ava. Alex served in the Canadian Army during WWII and retired in 1983 from the Ford Motor Company after 42 years of dedicated service. He was also a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4386 and a proud member of C.A.W. Local #200. He loved playing hockey with the South Windsor Old Timers, teaching the whole family how to play euchre, was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and enjoyed camping and the outdoors. Visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Avenue (519)354-3223 on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 4 p.m. A Memorial Service under the auspices of the Windsor Veterans Memorial Services Committee will be held Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. Family and friends are asked to gather at Corpus Christi Church, 1400 Cabana Road West, on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to Brentwood Recovery Home or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
