Our thoughts are with Cathie, Don and family at this time of loss.  I Remember Adrienne fondly from her time spent in Adelaide when Cathie was living here and my visit to Canada and the cottage.  Adrienne was a lovely lady with a great strength, sense of humour and fun and loved to share a good story and a laugh. Cathie, our thoughts, love and friendship is wrapped around you at this sad time.

I was blessed to have known Adrienne.  She was a polite woman that carried herself with grace. I won't forget her smile, her laugh and that cheeky glint in her eye as she told another of her stories (usually about Cathie).  Tony and I send our love and wishes to the family for their loss.  If there is anything we can do ease your grief, Cathie, let us know.  Our hearts and thoughts are with you.

I will always remember her as a gorgeous, vivacious woman - so much fun and laughter. Cathie, you can take pride in having been a really wonderful daughter to her.

I have had the opportunity to know your mom as a great neighbour during these last 9 years. I like to remember her as one that always liked a good chat, I'll miss our chats at the mailbox. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to meet such a strong willed woman. My condolences.

Don, Cathie.  It's been a while since I've seen you and your mom, although, I remember many a night at Rondeau, seeing Adrienne around the bridge table with Dot & Fred, Jean D. & Rosemary M.  My sincere condolences and I trust you are both doing well.

My dad and Adiennes husband George worked together and our families became great friends forever..there was a tight group of coworkers and friends that worked together and socialized through the years and Adrienne outlasted them all..the end of an era...I always envied Adrienne and Cathie's laid back outdoorsy lifestyle and companionship..our deepest sympathies to you Cathy and Don and family...Bob and Sue Schroeder

Adrienne was my second Mother particularly in my tumultuous teens.  She more than once loved me when I felt so unloved.. Cathie and I were like inseparable sisters throughout our teen years..doing the Rondeau thing...hanging out...check the gross pointe boys and of course the odd Blenheim and Ridgetown guy and of course dancing, dancing, dancing at the Pavillion..Adrienne was always there when we came home with a listening heart..ready to hear about our adventures, our fantasies and yes our broken dreams.  I never felt silly as the emotional roller coaster of those years made me a very tough challenged young girl...don & my long time girl/woman friend Cathie..(51 yrs since we decided to hang out. And create secrets that only we share)..I love you both and am honoured to have known your Mother and Father....may she enjoy once again being with those that went before....I am sure they have much to catch up on and the Bridge game in the heavens now with them all is nothing short of Divine....and so it is

I met Adrienne a couple years ago at the Radio Station as I work with Cathie, and she would come once in a while for an appointment with the eye Doctor and would come into the office to catch a ride back with Cathie. Oh no!! did she come in to wait! not at all Cathie would put her to work so really she paid for her ride home as the saying goes " There is no such thing as a Free Ride". 
Every Wednesday each week at work we have a cookie day, this past week was my turn to bake.  I said to Cathie to take her a couple of home baked cookies,  as Cathie was stopping in after work to see her.  She had them for her snack and loved them.  It was her last home baked goods to have.  
She was a wonderful woman, intelligent, whitty, independent, and caring let lone drove her car up until the last year or so.  Amazing!
She will be missed by her family, but they lots of good memories. 
May she rest in peace as there is no more aches or pains!  
You now have reaped your reward in Heaven!!!

I smile when I think of my Aunt Adrienne. How I loved our visits! Between her ready laugh, her feisty opinions, her direct, matter-of-fact approach to life, she was always fun to be with.  She and her sisters (Marion, Noreen and my mother, Madelon) were my role models, my guides, people to live up to - and if you've ever seen the photos of them from the mid-30's, they were a gorgeous gaggle of gals!  Adrienne's been bugging me for years to take up bridge, and I finally took lessons this spring in anticipation of visiting her in June. I'm sorry I won't get to play a hand with her, but maybe she'll perch on my shoulder when I'm playing, and someday I might be half as fun, smart and wily a player - and woman - as her.

Mrs. Morgan, I called her that for years when I was a child. Then it was Mom #2 for the rest of my life. The Morgans moved in next door to me when I was 3--I am now 63.  Mom taught me how to shop at the Salvation Army--to never buy anything until it went on sale, and how to make jello.  She always let Cathie and I destroy the kitchen trying to make some kind of food we wanted to try, and then it was awful !!  Funny story that has stayed with me forever, her nursing a mouse back to health that had gotten caught in the trap set under the sink.  Yep that was my Mom #2.  The memories will stay forever, I have so many to go back on.  Loved you for many many years Mrs. Morgan.  Sandy Bateman (SMB)

Adrienne was our dear neighbor and good friend for over fifty years. How lucky we were to have her!  We met her when she lived across the road and walked her beagle, Penny, on the beach. We had a beagle as well. Adrienne and my mother, Gladys, looked a little bit alike and were five years apart in age. They were great friends. After Adrienne moved next door to us, she would close her blinds on our side of her house and say, “Good night, Gladys!”  She kept an eye on our cottage, when we weren't there. 

As my husband, Dave says, she always treated us like family; welcoming our every visit, inviting us for cocktails or dinner. We had many a get-together at either cottage or on the beach.

We were all quite impressed with Adrienne's determination, boundless energy
and continued quest for knowledge. She exercised almost daily well into her nineties and  kept her mind sharp with bridge, crossword puzzles and world news. 

Adrienne had a keen sense of humor. Many years ago Adrienne, Cathie, Gladys I began a “white elephant” gift exchange, which began with something we acquired at an antique auction. We had fun with this for years! We continued to go antiquing as well. 

We will all miss Adrienne terribly, but take comfort in knowing that we enjoyed her for such a long time.
