William Jackson

Billy was a Godly man and loved Jesus. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a hard working man and worked many jobs all of his life to provide for his family. His greatest love was his wife Liz of 50 years, his children and his grandchildren. He took great pride in being a farmer and rancher, raising horses, cattle and commercially raising chickens. He was a jack of all trades and held many jobs throughout his life. He retired from Independent Life Insurance company early on in his life and later retired from the U.S Postal Service as a mail carrier in Auburn, GA and Dacula, GA.

Billy was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth (Wolfe) Jackson, his parents A.W. & Lucille (Leach) Jackson and his great-grandson Ian M. Allen.

He is survived by his children: Kim Allen and husband Ricky of Welty, OK, Todd Jackson and wife Gail of Bethlehem, GA, Sherry Freeman and husband Doug of Bethlehem, GA; his grandchildren: Eli Allen (wife Carrie) of Shawnee, OK, Ethan Allen (wife Nita) of Lawton, OK, Katie Thomason (husband Conner) of Bethlehem, GA, Blake Lee of Bethlehem, GA, Blaine Lee (wife Rian) of Statham, GA and Josh Crowe of Bethlehem, GA; great-grandchildren: Gavin, Ryan, Zack, Hannah, Brooke, Mela, Aiden, Braysin, Zyla, Bentley, Jazee, Jackson, Rylon, Malon, and Liam; sisters: Bessie Grice (husband Jack) of Duluth, GA, and Frances Aikens (husband Jerry) of Auburn, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him and he loved them dearly.

Services will be officiated by Pastor Richard Cole and Pastor Frankie Green. Pallbearers are Eli Allen, Ethan Allen, Blake Lee, Blaine Lee, Richie Aikens and Brandon Hamilton.

Funeral Services will be held Monday February 28, 2022 at 2:00 pm in Smith Memorial Chapel, 755 Atlanta Hwy, SE, Winder, GA. Interment will follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens next to the Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday, February 27th at Smith Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, if preferred, memorial donations would be greatly appreciated to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Trinity Baptist Church in Auburn, GA.
