Larry Michael "Mike" Long

Mike was born on October 21, 1950, in Statham. He was the son of Ray and Mary Ann Long. Mike was a 1968 graduate of Winder Barrow High School and joined the U.S. Navy in 1970. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for twenty years aboard naval ships and submarines. During Mike's career in the U.S. Navy he was stationed at various ports including Hawaii, Florida, and California. After retiring from the U.S. Navy, Mike lived in Farmington, Georgia, where he served as a caregiver to several individuals including his father, grandfather, and aunt. Mike was a devoted son, brother, and uncle. He loved his family and believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Ray Long. He is survived by his mother Mary Ann Long, sister Elaine (Stan) Dickens, and brothers Ronald (Wanda) Long and Greg Long, all of Oconee County. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Memory of Mike Long at diabetes.org/donate.
