Mr. John Richard Manders Jr.

John Richard Manders Jr., of Statham, died Monday August 13, 2012. He retired from Walton EMC as a mechanic supervisor. He was an Army veteran serving two terms in Vietnam. He retired from the Georgia National Guard as an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of the Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Statham American Legion. He is preceded in death by his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Manders Sr. and Della Louise Cole Manders. He is survived by his wife, Sally Louette Sims Manders of Statham; two sons, John Richard Manders III and Kevin "Cowboy" Manders, both of Statham; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Bryan McDonough of Alpharetta; a brother, George Manders of Statham; a sister, Mary Jane Manders of Athens; two grandchildren, Brady and Mason McDonough. Visitation will be held from 6 until 9 PM Wednesday August 15, 2012 at Smith Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held Thursday August 16, 2012 at 2 PM in the Smith Memory Chapel with the Reverend's John Burchfield and Hal Tapp officiating. Donations may be made to the Midway Christian Church Building Fund or the Statham American Legion post 163.
