John Edward Cowles Jr. died suddenly Friday, July 30, 2021 after a long battle with cancer starting in 2018.
He was born in Yonkers, NY on March 28, 1947 to John Edward Cowles Sr. and Edith Crawford Cowles. The family moved west to Altadena, CA in 1951. John went to college at Long Beach State where he earned a degree in architecture. He settled in Huntington Beach where he met and married Mary Bozeman and had three sons, Chris, Nick and Shawn Cowles. The family again returned to the east in 1991. They made their home in Auburn, GA to be near family. John then worked in the pest control business until his retirement. He was well respected and loved by his customers. John was a kind and loving husband and a wonderful father and mentor to his three sons. His family and many of their friends will sorely miss him until we meet again in the hereafter. John is also survived by his sister, Judy Bennett and five grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held at a later date.
