Gerald Eugene Hartman Sr.

Gerald Eugene Hartman Sr., age 87, of Winder, GA passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Gerald was born in Hogansville. GA to the late Jesse Eugene and Mary Frances Hartman. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a 1958 graduate of the UGA School of Pharmacy and retired as a Hospital Pharmacist with the Gwinnett Hospital Authority. Gerald was an active member of Winder First United Methodist Church and he was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Georgia Pharmacy Association, and Methodist Men. He was a Mason and volunteered with Barrow County Relay for Life and the American Red Cross.

In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Langford Hartman and his brother Alan Hartman. He is survived by his children: Gerald (Angie) Hartman, Jr. of Cumming and Kayleen (Gary) McDougal of Eatonton, GA; grandchildren: Andrew (Abby) McDougal of Augusta, Steven (Katie) McDougal of Salt Lake City, UT, and Nichols Hartman of Cumming; and greatgrandchild, Russell McDougal of Augusta.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA on Thursday, October 17 from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm at Winder First United Methodist Church, 28 N. Broad Street, Winder, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shepherd Center at 2020 Peachtree Rd, NW, Atlanta, GA 30309 or the American Red Cross.
