A native and life long resident of Barrow County, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Statham for more than 50 years. She was also a member of: Order of the Eastern Star, Woodmen of the World, and a charter member of the American Auxillary. She served on the Statham City Council for 14 years and also worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for Jaco Pants Manufacturing and for the University of Georgia for 23 years. Her parents, George Cornelius Cagle and Mary Ruby Davis Cagle, and grandson, Ace Jackson preceded her in death. She was the widow of Glenn A. Jackson Sr. to whom she was married for 64 years.
Survivors include: her sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Pat Jackson of Clarksville, Donnie and Sharon Jackson of Statham, Al and Amanda Jackson of Danielsville, and Eddie and Terri Jackson of Statham; grandchildren, Dana Picciotti, Shea Jackson, Lee Jackson, Andrew Jackson, A.J. Jackson, Adam Jackson, Neil Jackson, and Jennifer Jackson; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Lindy, Jackson Picciotti, Gracie, Jillian, Winn, and Zack Jackson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011 in Smith Memory Chapel with Rev. Gordon Thornton officiating. Interment will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
