Dorothy Wood

Dorothy Wood, age 63 of Arnoldsville, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of New Life Baptist Church. Dorothy loved serving others and took great pride in being part of The Ogelthorpe County Food Bank. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Bell Kimbrell; a son, Shane Greeson; four brothers, Kirby, JB, Dennis and Clint Littleton and three sisters, Martha Barnette, Ophie Woodall and Christine Banks. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 22 years, Ralph Wood of Arnoldsville; two sons, RJ Wood (Kim) of Comer and Joshua Barnette (Alicia) of Bowersville; two daughters, Deana Thompson (O’Neal) of Winder and Christy McCoy (Joshua) of Athens; a sister, Mary Holbrook of Lawrenceville and eight grandchildren, Caleb, Josiah, Tyler and Amber Barnette, Hunter and Connor Welch and Lauren and Memphis McCoy. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 6 until 9PM at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA. Funeral services will be at 2PM Friday, March 16, 2018 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Olds officiating. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Ogelthorpe County Food Bank or New Life Baptist Church, Crawford, GA.
