Susan Cause

Susan Cause, age 74, of Leland, North Carolina passed away peacefully at her home on November 5, 2023. Sue was born in Greenwich, Connecticut to Sally and Ross Worn and is survived by her husband Bob Cause; her brothers Phil and Bob Worn; daughter Ali Cause-Nance and two grandsons James and Max Nance.

Sue was a journalist for many years, working as a writer and editor for both newspapers and magazines.To her last day, she believed in the power and importance of print media. Sue owned two gourmet food businesses with her husband and through these endeavors found a love of wine. She even helped run wine tastings for Olli (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute).

Food also played an important part during her retirement because she found a passion for helping those in need. Sue was an active volunteer for Mother Hubbard's Cupboard, serving as a team coordinator and spending many hours gathering donations, finding volunteers and shopping for needed supplies.

Sue was a fan of many sports, but found joy in playing and watching tennis. She also loved watching college basketball and pro football games. She even turned her love for the Carolina Panthers jersey inside out this year until they got their first win. Sue also loved going to her daughter's sporting competitions as well as her grandsons' flag football and soccer games.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Winter Park Presbyterian Church.

A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations of non perishable food be made to Mother Hubbard's Cupboard.
