He was born on March 1st, 1962 and grew up in Lumberton with his loving parents John Furman Price, Jr. and Elizabeth Deaton Price.
Mr. Price was a devoted University of North Carolina football and basketball fan and a Rams Club Member for over thirty-five years, attending two Final Four Championships in which the Tar Heels played. He had a keen sense of adventure and learning about new cultures and in particular loved travelling to Venezuela and England. He had an appreciation for music, gardening, fishing and cooking, all of which he shared with his children. His prankster sense of humour and immense kindness brought smiles to everyone he knew.
Mr. Price was a graduate of Lumberton High School in Lumberton, and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian College in Laurinburg.
He is survived by his daughter Sarah Ashley Price of Toronto; his son and daughter-in-law John Furman Price, IIII and Annabelle Leigh Price of Wilmington; a sister and brother-in-law, Louise Price Holland and Gene Allen Holland, Jr. of Durham; and two grandchildren Maverick Jackson Price and Penelope Layne Price of Wilmington.
A private memorial service will be held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
