John Willis Peterson Sr.

Mr. Peterson was a former member and deacon of Goshen Baptist Church and a current member at the First Baptist Church of Wallace. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired with 39 years of service with Federal Paper Company and was a lifelong farmer. Most of all he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was loved and will be missed by many.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Lee Peterson and sisters: Hazel Hayes and Geneva Hufman.

He is survived by his daughters: Belinda Graves and husband Michael of Wilmington, NC and Alison Caines and husband Eddie Ray of Riegelwood, NC; sons: John Peterson, Jr. and wife Sandra of Taylorsville, NC and James Peterson of Willard, NC; grandchildren: Zachary Peterson of Taylorsville, NC, Andrew Caines and Matthew Caines, both of Riegelwood, NC and sister, Mourine Carter of Waynesville, NC.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11am on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery, Leland, NC with Dr. Dennis Bazemore officiating. Military Honors will be presented.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Life Care formerly known as Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Wilmington, NC.
