He was born in Detroit, MI on July 13, 1937 son of the late Henry Francis Lanckton and Mary “Rose” Kurkowsai Lanckton.
In addition to his parents, He is preceded in death by his wives Billie Jean Carroll Lanckton and Hazell Charles Lanckton.
Bill proudly served in the United Sates Marine Corp. He courageously went on two tours in Vietnam and has remained a true patriot.
Bill was a lifelong devoted Catholic, attending St Mark Catholic Church in Wilmington. He was an avid runner.
Bill is survived by his sons. Aaron Lanckton and Jeffery Lanckton both of Wilmington, NC; brother, Melvin and his wife Marlena Lanckton of Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law, Betty Carroll Malpass and her husband Gene of Oak Island, NC also survived by many nieces , nephews and good friends. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Monday February 22, 2021 at St Mark Catholic Church,1013 Eastwood Road, Wilmington, NC 28403. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Oleander Memorial Garden, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, NC 28409.
