I worked with Deborah at AT&T. Not only she was an expert in the field, she was humble, kind, generous, and always willing to help. May her Memory be Eternal.

I'm very sorry to learn of Deborah's passing.

Deborah was an AT&T colleague and I first met her over 20 years ago. She was pioneering a new IP-based Virtual Private Network service, and at the time we/AT&T were the first to bring this type of innovative service to the market. We worked together on many customer proposals - often with complex requirements and short turnaround time to respond. She was so smart and a pleasure to work with, I remember thinking how patient she must be answering all of my questions.  This service is now an enduring flagship AT&T product and supports many, many thousands of customers.

 My sincerest condolences to her family.

I met Deborah when we both joint AT&T Bell Labs in the 80s. My wife Emily Hu and Deborah were friends since teenage. We both settled down in NJ Manalapan in the late 80s, and our kids are in the same age group, so we set play-days from them. We had many happy meetings. We both had big Germen Shepherds as our family pet, and we let our dogs to have play day too.  Deborah was a good piano player, so music was always a subject in our chats. 
Too bad Emily and I both covid tested positive recently, so we had to miss Deborah’s Memorial Service. For that we felt nothing but sadness. These days I play Chopin’s Ballade #1 in G, Nocturne in C-sharp minor, and of course Tristesse whenever I have time, because we know Deborah played and liked these Chopin works, and she is listening…

Praise the Lord for Deborah’s love of her Lord Jesus Christ and her living in faith!  May Deborah’s God comfort and care her family and friends with life and peace in the eternal hope of glory!

I was so sorry to hear our high school classmate Deborah Wan's passing on 10/19/2022; tears rolled down my face. 
Deborah was almost like a movie star, she shone brightly and was very active in our high school in Shanghai China. Everyone knew her, but of course she couldn’t know everyone.  We all believe she must have had many secret admirers at that time. She was not only beautiful, tall, and athletic— she also had good grades. She was known for being one of the top students among our 1975 year class with more than 800 students. She excelled at playing the piano and dance, as she often appeared on the stage performing classic Chinese waist drum dancing.    
A few weeks ago, I received a final farewell message from her.  I immediately called her back and we had a short but very touching talk.  She wanted to thank me for advising her on her final arrangements, yet it was I who truly wanted to express my gratitude to her.  It was Deborah who invited me to join her Han-Shang Garden trip in Shanghai back in April 2016, flew round trip between Dallas and South California within 36 hours just to attend a mini reunion in May 2017, and hosted me and my husband in her Dallas house for New Year's in 2018.
She was a tough and strong lady. During her illness, she often posted updates on her treatment and health condition to our WeChat group in both Chinese and English.  Facing death, she was peaceful and calm.  She really did what she set out to do: “End Well”.  Deborah was truly a dignified, honest and bright lady!

Last photo: We treasure this beautiful and precious moment with our dear sister Deborah with dear brother Ron. We hasten that day coming soon, we will meet with our dear sister Deborah and brother Ron at the wedding banquet of the Lamb. 

Her husband, brother Ron wanted her to sit down and get more rest since she laid on bed whole day on Friday; however, she greeted everyone and served saints with joy.  Who can predict this become the last gathering we have with our dear sister Deborah.  We like to join her footsteps to love the Lord and love on another with our best ❤️.

It’s unspeakable of joy and full of glory when we met the saints in Wilmington, NC.

The last wish: Saints in Raleigh blend with the saints in Wilmington area. Sister Deborah consecrated herself to the Lord that she would love to see the golden lamp stand be established in Wilmington soon.

先前听闻万小珉病了，很重，昨得悉她离去了。与小珉不在一个班，在市二求学的四年里不甚相熟，但有瞩目这个两根大辫子的高挑美丽女生。多才多艺，活泼聪慧灵气，这是我对她的印象。许渊冲年青时因暗恋一位女同学，就把林徽因的一首情诗译成英文寄给这位女生，借诗表意，倾吐爱慕之情。在市二那段时光小珉有否收到过男生的情诗，不知道，如有我是绝不会惊讶的。现在这个秘密随她的离去也无从她亲口告知了。毕业四十周年庆典上，见到了特地从美国飞来与会的小珉，戴着老花眼为大家演奏钢琴，时光荏苒，令人感叹。后有见过一段视频，小珉一袭华裙舞着弗拉明戈，风采不减。我想，如同这舞步那样，多姿多彩一定是小珉的人生了。

上海早点和韩湘园 4/2016
在2016 年 4 月市二返校庆典的日子里，我备受万小珉的关照，其实这是我俩第一次有交接，70 年代的市二，我就被她的才气和身高所折服。 如今被邀与她和她熟稔的女同学一起去韩湘园游玩，我一口答应。 早晨，我们相继见面，当6 班 李伟同学得知我和小珉滴口未沾，便立刻带领我们俩“馋佬胚 ”直奔复兴西路“七宝汤团店”。 该店的糯米汤圆又大又白，有芝麻，豆沙，猪肉， 滚烫的汤圆， 吃得我，火急火辽，小珉 本事大，吃得比我快。 数只汤圆下肚后，三女人嘴巴一抹，继续上路。 青团是我们下一个目标。 按李伟的介绍， 青团需吃刚出炉的，为此， 我们满怀信心，此处信心有2， 信心 1- 对李伟的信心，来自于汤圆。 信心2- 对 淮海路，复兴中路点心店的信心。  我们脚步愈发坚定，因为肚里有汤圆。应了那句老话，“肚中有食，心中不慌”。途中，经过第二食品商店，我和小珉，都是奔六十的女人，竟然像小女生那样嘴馋， 买盐金枣，桃板肉，我们左一包，右一袋，欢天喜地走出店家。 不久， 又找到了座落在瑞金二路，淮海路的 “丰裕点心店”， 买到早11点后，第一蒸锅出炉的，热腾腾的青团，我忙不迭地 咬一口豆沙青团，满口青（篙）草香和红豆沙甜，真是春天的味道。反正好吃到若此时“打我一把掌，我也不松口”的地步。 估计小珉此时的状态与我差不多。 呵呵。 所有有关淑女，优雅，矜持的语言全靠一边去， 此时，我（们）是洋插队返城知青，抑或我更像一位双眼皮的母猪，哪管吃相，吃的场地是否适宜。之后的油条， 我已实在吃不下去。 但拒绝不了诱惑， 从小珉处撕下一段，放进了嘴里。几秒的时间，我俩几乎同时，冲着李伟 同学乱叫：“好吃 ！，好吃 ！”。此油条才是真正的油条，松， 脆，香，韧， 油而不腻， 入口即溶。我们驻足在“张记大饼店 ” 前， 面对襄阳南路，复兴中路的交叉口 ，李伟看着我俩傻妞，一高一矮，幸福地把那根玲珑剔透的油条，一口一口地消灭了。她比我俩更感幸福，因为是她的引领，让我俩一尝娘家的美味，一解思乡之情。 在此，再次感谢李伟同学。
中午， 2 班严蔚及她的老公世仁兄开车专程陪我们一行游玩韩湘园。此园坐落在闵行黄浦江边， 离市区有点距离。 从介绍上说，三十余座古石桥分布在约300 亩水生态园林。当然，园内少不了亭台楼阁 ，花树草木。据说曾是陈良余的后花园， 最近刚对外开放，所以大批游客都是上海五六十岁的退休大姐们 。 我怎会知晓？ 因为她们都操着上海口音，翘首弄姿轮番互相拍照。 我直感到做上海退休女人真福气，她们有时间， 有钱财，有体力，穿梭在上海各大公园及世界各地， 享受着晚霞满地的黄金岁月。“这该是紫藤花吧？”， 李 伟狐疑地向严蔚问道， “是的”， 严蔚肯定地回答。严蔚同学对绘画极有天赋，对花草习性更是如数家珍， 能得到严同学的“Yes”, 李伟露出惊喜的微笑。“蒙对了”，她谦卑地笑道。  我忍不住也夸李伟几句， “ 你看， 花的色儿是紫色的， 又开在藤枝上， 那定是紫藤花树，你有相当高的逻辑判断。” 当然我对李伟的评定， 是在严蔚艺术老师“Yes”之后， 实属事后诸葛亮。我们大家在一片欢笑中，继续前行。 石拱桥， 半圆洞，  长廊， 亭楼， 石雕，书院 赋予着各色好听的名字，比如吟春桥， 茅草亭， 钓鱼翁。。。，  随着下午的推进， 园内人渐渐稀少，微风拂面，  满眼绿藻清波， 万花掩映， 一派春江水暖。 我们一行，由小珉带头， 兴致愈发盎然， 对每一石桥， 每一水波，定驻足拍照留念。小珉抓着严蔚和李伟不停地给她俩拍照， 还不过瘾， 拉我上马，把我当模特儿地拍。 乖乖龙地洞， 我最怕拍照， 总觉自己摆不出赋有女人味的pose。严蔚有艺术家的气质，举手投足有文艺范儿。 李伟同学娇小 纤细，怎么照，都显淑女典雅。 最后严蔚拿出画家审美的眼光， 拿小珉做模特儿， 密集给小珉照， 围巾从黄色，换成紫色，再翻出紫色花巾， 墨镜戴上，又“逼”她拿下墨镜， 因为我们一致认为，小珉有迷人的双眼，尤其她的 嫣然一笑，摄人魂魄， 带墨镜拍照，可惜了。当我们离开韩湘园时， 也是韩湘园最美时分。
此次，我受到万小珉同学多方照顾， 从安排到费用， 我都没出力出资， 惭愧啊。  
韩湘园确实美， 建议在黄昏时刻游玩，更有一番浪漫。
韩湘园是物美， 而同学是人情美。 人情才是世间最美丽的。

Sister Deborah was joyful to meet with the saints! She has served her beloved brothers & sisters by the counsel of God, did indeed fall asleep and be buried with her fathers. As David in the Bible, Act 13:36

I was Deborah's counselor at the Steps Through OC program. I send my deepest condolences to the whole family. She was a true inspiration, constantly looking for new treatments that would help her. She loved all of you very much.
