Walter Romero

It's important that we acknowledge and fully experience the emotions of this day, on which we have gathered together not to say goodbye, but rather, we will see you later.

My Sister Sharon met Walter in 2005 at Young Life Church in San Pedro, Ca.

Walter was my sister's high school sweetheart and first love.

Less than a year after they met, they welcomed their first daughter Roxanna.

They got married in 2007, in which I had the privilege of being the Maid of Honor and his brother Josh was the best man.

And in those following years they welcomed Noah, Jacob, Lily, and Zachery into our lives.

As some of you may know my Sister and Walter were separated, but were working on getting along and in a very good place. Learning how to love each other again and co-parenting so well.

Walter kept a white board were he would right down his goals or to-do list and the kids told my

sister that one of the things he wrote on it was to rebuild and fix his marriage.

Just about almost everyday Walter would call my sister just to talk about the kids and also to re-connect and re-build their relationship. Walter recently told my sister how much he still loved her and missed her.

I have no doubt that Sharon and Walter had so much love for each other.

He was an incredible father to Roxy, Noah, Jacob, Lily, and Zachery.

He was always putting them first and making every effort to build a great life for his kids. He enjoyed doing many things with his kids, teaching them how to Rollerblade, ride a boogie board and even surfing. Noah and Jacob had the privilege to learn ju-jitsu with their Dad as well.

Walter loved taking the kids out on new adventures and experiences to show them all the wonderful things our world has to offer.

He strived to set goals and achieve everything he had his mind set out to do.

He often read books to gain knowledge. He has an impressive book collection... enough to start a library of his own.

He was so proud of the work he did and loved to share photos and stories of the things he worked on and places he would go to with Sharon and the kids. He had so many pictures of his work projects in his phone.

He often spoke about the many friends and coworkers he respected and looked up to during his 5 years at Harbor Diesel (Art, Tommy, Bino, Clyde, Tim, and Zach) to name a few.

When Walter finally became a Union Member with Local Union 12 (International Union of Operating Engineers) he was so proud of himself as this was one of his career goals. He also was very fond of his fellow Union Brother Jessie and shared how much he enjoyed working with him.

To my baby sister Sharon, I just want you to know how much I admire your strength and courage that you have shown during the most unimaginable and heartbreaking time in your life. Im so proud of the person you are today. Your an amazing mother and I want you to know that I will always be by your side thru all the good and bad times.

There is nothing in this world I wouldn't do for you, and I will always be there for my nieces and nephews. Roxy, Noah, Jacob, Lily, Zachery... I love you with all my heart, me and your uncle Richie along with your cousins Anthony, Rick,, Emily, Vivyann and Ava, will be here to support you guys and encourage you to chase your dreams. Never settle for less because your Dad wouldn't want it any other way.

On behalf of my Sister Sharon, and my nieces and nephews, Roxanna, Noah, Jacob, Lily, and Zachery we would like to thank everyone that is here today and for those who have sent their condolences. They have received countless phone calls, texts, flowers, meals, visits, thoughts and prayers. They have both been comforting during this difficult time and have been a reminder of the impact that Walter had on so many others.

Walter, you will be missed dearly. Rest well on your journey until we meet again.
