Maria de Jesus Ayala

Maria de Jesus “Chuche” Ayala, age 97 passed away peacefully on December 3, 2022, in Long Beach, CA. She was born on December 27, 1924, in Tangancicuaro, Michoacan (Mexico). She is predeceased by her husband, Jose Chavez; grandson, Alejandro Contreras; and son, Jesus Chavez. She is survived by her children: Josefina Rios (Jose), Rebeca Madrigal (Armando), Alberto Chavez (Alma), Rosa Maria Chavez, Javier Chavez (Alicia), and Luz Maria Chavez de Reyes (Roman). She leaves behind: 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Our beloved “Chuche” was called back home after a long and fruitful life. Although we are saddened that she has left this earthly realm, we are certain she is at peace and rejoicing in heaven with her loved ones. To know her, was to love her. “Chuche” was one of a kind with her “tough cookie” love, sense of humor, and caring heart. We will miss her no filters personality, conversations, hugs, and playing loteria with her. She was always the center of attention wherever she went, and “Chuche” loved it. People loved to visit her throughout her lifetime because they liked her company, food, and especially her hospitality. If you were near and dear to her heart, consider yourself a lucky and privileged person.

Until we meet again “Chuche”, you will forever live in our hearts and minds. God took the root of our family back home but left behind her love and many wonderful memories to last a lifetime. We love you until eternity and beyond “Chuche”! May your spirit be free, joyful, and in eternal peace.
