Patricia J. Attebery

Patricia J. Attebery, 96, died peacefully in Highland Park, IL on 12-19-20. Patricia was raised in Chicago, graduated with a BA from the University of Illinois where she met her husband William F. Pickrell, and settled in Illiopolis, IL, a rural town where her husband was a farmer. During the subsequent years her husband tragically died, she remarried to William D. Sally, moved to the Chicago area, divorced and settled in Vernon Hills, IL. She is survived by five children; Patricia P. Reilly of Houston, TX, William H. Pickrell (Martha) of Wilmette, IL, Constance M. Pickrell (Ken Kreft) of Glencoe, IL, Harry A. Pickrell (Renee) of Chicago, IL, William D. Sally of Milwaukee, Wis.; one brother John M. Attebery (Leslie) of Vero Beach, FL; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Pat was known for her great beauty, intellectual curiosity, refined personal standards and calm demeanor. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and crowned an "ILLIO Beauty" while in college. Pat loved to puzzle over nuances of the English language, never tired of correcting her children's table manners and would frequently rearrange her furniture just for fun. She will be buried in Irving Park Cemetery next to her parents, Juanita and Willard Attebery, and older brother Richard.
