Martin "Marty" B. Robins

Martin Robins, age 65, recently passed away peacefully in his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and June Robins, and will be deeply missed by his longtime friends, extended family, colleagues, and clients.

Marty was a practicing attorney and member of the bar in Illinois. He loved the law and took great pride in his legal profession. Marty began his career serving several of Chicago’s top law firms, followed by positions as in-house counsel for IDC Services, and Sr. VP and General Counsel for Meridian Leasing. At the time of his passing, Marty was a partner and valued member of the Corporate Group at the Chicago office of the law firm FisherBroyles.

Marty was generous with his time and in sharing his extensive knowledge. He served as an Adjunct Instructor for more than a decade at the DePaul University of College of Law, and as a Board member for the Barrington Youth and Family Services for several years. A prolific writer, Marty published extensively in legal journals, wrote Op-Ed and Letters to the Editor for numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journal, and authored a conservative column for the Huffington Post.

A passionate sports fan, Marty played hockey and tennis and recently developed a love of golf. Above all, Marty was a loyal and devoted Chicago Bears fan. A season ticket holder for forty years, he never missed a home game, always generously inviting friends to join him in the stands. As a true student of the game, Marty had a gift for predicting which plays were about to be run. He often saw an opponent’s disguised plays and would eagerly shout warnings to his beloved Bears. He knew the rules as well as the referees and was hardly shy about loudly offering his disapproval of bad referee calls. Chicago sportscasters and journalists knew him by name and valued his insights and commentaries regarding the Bears. His voice will be missed at Soldier Field.
