Lotte was a graduate of Hyde Park High School and Roosevelt University in Chicago. Before marrying and starting a family, she was ahead of her time by pursuing a degree in Chemistry and working in the field. Lotte was happiest surrounded by the love of her family, extended family and spending time with her life- long friends.
In 1951, Lotte married Gerard Marx and they spent fifty wonderful years together in a true partnership. Lotte was a dedicated and loving mother to Tom (Jenny)Marx and the late Karen (Gary)Gruen. She was the proud grandma of Staci (David) Yablon, Chad (Leah) Gruen, Eric (Lucy) Gruen, Daniel (Julia Rozenblit) Marx, and Amy (Ryan) Hass.
Lotte was most proud of her thirteen great grandchildren: Taylor, Nora and Molly Hass, Rhys Marx, Max and Zoe Yablon, Geri, Becca, Kyle, and Hannah Gruen, Rosie, Kenny, and Kara Gruen.
In her later years she continued her love of learning by reading the newspapers and discussing politics. She formed special relationships with her caregivers who added so much love and meaning to her life. Lotte’s determination, perseverance, and strength in the face of life’s adversity provided a role model to everyone who knew her. She cared deeply for others and she touched many lives along the way.
Lotte leaves a wonderful legacy.
