Fred Henry Rothschild

Fred was born in Bad Hersfeld, Germany in 1932 to Jacob and Johanna Rothschild. Fred was preceded in death by his loving brother Edward (Emmy) Rothschild. After escaping Germany in late 1938, the family settled in Hyde Park, Chicago. Fred attended Kozminski, Hyde Park High School, The University of Illinois at Navy Pier, Roosevelt University and The University of Chicago.

Fred was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dena Rothschild, nee Freeman. Loving father of David (Merle Branner) Rothschild, Lisa (Greg) Linn and Sarah (Stan) Rothschild. Proud Opa to grandchildren JJ (Victoria) Linn, Emily Linn, Zachery Linn, Charlie (Abby) Rovin, Miriam Rothschild, Michael Yancovich and Katie Yancovich. He was a wonderful brother-in-law to the late Larry (Helen) Freeman and the late Tevis (Janet) Freeman. He was a caring uncle to Steven (Lisa Oppenheim) Rothschild, Mark (Tricia) Rothschild, Shana (Fred) Singerman, Phil Freeman, Ken (Norma Freeman) and Bobby (Wanda) Freeman. Dear companion of Rochelle Nathan.

Funeral service Tuesday, Dec. 12, 11AM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Shiva to follow. Livestream details on funeral home website.
