David was born August 16, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois to Iris and Raymond Solal. As a child, his favorite things to do were to play outside, ride his bicycle, swim at the Morton Grove pool, care for his pet frogs and rabbits, play ping pong, carve wood, and read books.
Dave loved television and movies and was interested in a vast range of genres. One of his favorite shows was Forged in Fire. He enjoyed reading science fiction novels and fan fiction, tinkering around with bicycles and cars, gardening, and cooking. David was a kind and gentle soul. He is survived by his beloved sister, Janine (Aaron) Ibbotson, his dear uncle Phillip (Heather) Atlas, as well as by many cousins and relatives in Illinois, Texas, and France.
