Sorry for the late entry.  Dan was immensely helpful last winter in getting Medicare supplemental insurance set up.  With all the radio ads for Medicare enrollment this fall, thought I'd reach out to Dan and see what we needed to do -- and when the phone was disconnected I searched and found the awful news.

I met Dan at the Ravinia Farmers market then worked with him over the phone those months getting set with insurance.  It was so clear that he truly was a warm and giving person who was truly empathetic but also super helpful and knowledgeable.  

May his memory be a blessing

Loved you and Susan,  and grateful for our friendship! And I will always be grateful to your thoughtful gesture, to reach out to Molly, for a position to manage your Deerfield WF Wine Department. 
She thrived from that point on, thanks to you, in the Chicago Wine Industry for many years!

Dan was my high school boyfriend of 3.5 years. A little over a week ago I found myself talking about Dan... I was driving my son, Max, to a birthday party and as we turned into the neighborhood I instinctively turned down the radio-- as I always do when I enter a residential area. And, when I do, I always think of Dan. Dan and I used to listen to the radio at full volume but whenever we turned into my neighborhood or his, he would turn down the volume. I shared this with Max to give him a great example of how a very small act of thoughtfulness can have a very big and lasting impact. Dan had a very big and lasting impact on my life and I'm sending so much love to all of Dan's family as you struggle with this unbelievable loss and navigate your unthinkable grief . . . 

I am very saddened to learn about the passing of Dan. I worked with Dan at Whole Foods Market at Green Bay Road in Evanston when the store opened in 2015. He was good co-worker to work with at WFM. My heartfelt condolences goes out to his family. May his memory be a blessing 

Thanks for making work fun for so many years Dan! Your upbeat energy and desire to include everyone in the fun will never be forgotten <3

I met Dan when he and his crew opened the long awaited new WFM in Deerfield.  He and I shared an insatiable passion for talking about food.  Sometimes, a simple request to check on the availability of an item would result in a rambling conversation always about what else? Food of course! Dan and Susan were inseparable and exuded love and happiness to all who knew them as a couple.  Recently, when he started his own new business, we chatted about different strategies to grow his clientele.  He was so eager and enthusiastic to excel in this new endeavor.  I will miss his nonstop smile and positivity.  I will miss his friendship.  I will miss running into Dan and Susan.  My thoughts are with you Susan and your family... praying that you may be comforted and blessed by his memory.  Amen.

My condolences to the entire Gordon family during this difficult time. Dan was a dear friend and an integral part of my adolescence.  I have numerous happy memories of the times we spent together and am so very grateful that I was able to spend some time with him during my recent visit to Chicago. My heart is aching.

Dan, Ryan and I were a great team at WFM GBR. We opened the store together and with Dan’s leadership we created a successful store, still to this day. He has influenced many team members to greatness. We will miss you Dan and we will see you again in the spirit world. Our love and hearts goes out to Susan and the Gordon family. Dan was well loved and will forever live in our hearts. 

Dan was my boss.

But more than a boss Dan was a teacher, mentor, challenger, supporter, friend.

He allowed me to be part of his team.  Encouraging ideas, disagreements, observations and confronting my errors and celebrating my successes.

Dan knew that because I was there to be productive in my transition into retirement, and respected and sought my opinion, experience and strengths.  

Dan loved people and worked hard to encourage and celebrate everyone in their efforts to build a better business and strengthen people’s skills and  challenge there areas of need.

I am a better person by having the amazing opportunity to have worked for Dan and I’m filled with sorrow and heartache seeing him pass.  

I know he has touched many lives positively and will be missed by so many.

My condolences to his loved ones… his dear family, his fiends and all those who have been touched by is sparkling eyes and inquisitive mind.

I worked with Dan at Whole Foods in Deerfield for almost 6 years.  He was an amazing leader, dedicated to having the best team, and making the job quite enjoyable.  When I heard he passed, I was at a loss for words.  We shared the same birthday, and he joked to me that it was his first, and he always honored my request to take the day off since it was his day too.  I send my heartfelt condolences to the family at this extremely difficult time.
