I only met Paula Buchholz once, when she drove out and came into Rene's house strong, confident and ready to tell stories, despite her limp.  See photo below showing Paula with Rene, Kristen and me visiting from Manila as a first-time guest in Rene's Buffalo home. 
Paula was the woman who brought up Rene and her two other siblings, and for that I honor and thank her.  

May the strength of the love your mother left behind, gird you through this difficult time.
The lovely photo of your family struck me as how much my dear cousin looked like our grandmother, Giuseppina.

Rene, my deepest condolences to you, Laurie and Pat, for your Mom's passing. Same to Jessica and Kristen, and other members of her family. So much love for my cousin Paula and her loving family for the steady and constant love my whole life . RIP

Although it’s been many decades I will never forget your smile,  your laughter and the fun we had on that special 1-day trip to NYC in 1965 for the World’s Fair.  Our lives took us in different directions and to opposite sides of the world after that day though we still connected off and on for many years.  The kids grew up and we drifted apart but I’ve never forgotten the joy of you. Rest In Peace old friend.
