Patricia Marie Kirkpatrick

Battle Creek, Michigan

Patricia Marie Kirkpatrick was born March 18, 1927 in Battle Creek, Michigan and went to her heavenly home October 27, 2015 at the age of 88. Pat was the daughter of James and Frances McHale. She attended St. Phillip Catholic School through her graduation. Pat spent most of her life in Battle Creek and moved to Okemos in her later years. She resided at Wynwood Assisted Living then lived at Ingham County Medical Care Facility until her passing.

Pat worked at Kellogg’s, Battle Creek, as a quality control member. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, and supporting her children and grandchildren in all of their activities. She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed sewing many of her own clothes. Pat enjoyed participating in the American Sewing Guild. She was a member of St. Jerome Parish until her move to Lansing.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents James and Frances McHale, her husband of 50 years John Kirkpatrick, sisters Juanita Brigstock and Rosemary Large, and grandson Andrew R. Derado. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen A. VanRavenswaay (Tim) of Okemos, Michigan, Tomalee M. Derado (John) of Lebanon, Indiana, grandchildren Erich (Kristen) VanRavenswaay, Melissa (Andrew) Ryan, Kristin N. (Mark) McCabe, Timothy (Kelly) VanRavenswaay, and Matthew (Jenna) Derado. There are six great-grandchildren, Addison and Delaney Ryan, Matthew and Henry VanRavenswaay, and Corbin and Brooke Derado.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Ingham County Medical Care Facility for the tremendous loving care that was given to Pat.

Services for Pat will be Tuesday November 3, 2015 at Mt. Mary’s Catholic Church, 157 High Street, Williamston, Michigan. The family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M.
