Joyce Marie Dyer

Joyce was born April 3, 1937 in Williamston, Ml to Myron and Lydia Bickley; and Maternal grandparents Elias and Berniece Dexter Babbitt. She was the last surviving family member of Lydia and Myron Bickley as Darlene, Dale, Larry, and Dorothy had preceded her in death.

Current family includes the children, step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews from the families of:

A special thank you to Dr. Elizabeth Hengstebeck and Lansing PACE, Sparrow and Mclaren Hospitals for twelve years of Medical Support and Rehabilitation while Joyce was living in Leslie. Another thank you to lifelong friends, Dr. James LaBerge and Dr. James Barone of Williamston. Don Vickers and PACE Staff (John, Sara, and Theresa) helped make her living arrangement safe to accommodate Joyce's limited vision and mobility.

A combined Memorial Celebration of Dorothy and Joyce's lives will be held in Williamston, May 15th at 2pm at held on Saturday, May 15 at Spag’s, 1286 E Grand River, Williamston, with visitation one hour prior and a luncheon to follow, with Pastor Linda Devore officiating. Attendees will be invited to a viewing of Dorothy's burial urn and Darlene Bickley Kirkbride's headstone and engraving in Summit Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the service.

Final cremains will be transported to Oakwood Cemetery in Saline, Michigan at a later date.

Joyce will be remembered for her love of Gunsmoke, Country Western Music, Hallmark Movies, National Geographic (Dr. Ian and Diane Pol), riding horses, doing crafts/sewing, gardening, and storytelling with friends. Joyce has asked that the cremains of her favorite cat (Drama) accompany her.

But most of all she loved her family, her grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. She was a "High Tech" grandma, calling and texting them on her cell phone, even as her vision declined.

Her career life included private childcare, Cunningham Drugstore, Oldsmobile, managing mobile home parks and apartments, and cashiering at Fresh Market in Williamston.

Joyce's Last Wish was that her family be united in love and forgiveness.
