David G. Acker, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2019 in Lansing, Michigan. Dave was born April 3, 1938 to Dewey and Ruth (Wygant) Acker at the home in Webberville where he lived and worked for his 80 years of life. A lifelong dairy farmer, Dave enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing – always catching the biggest fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joan Acker; his sisters, Edith Northrup and Beatrice Silsby; and his brother, Floyd Acker.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 11 years, Sharon; his step-children, April (Dale) Richmond, Nancy McCowan, and Thomas (Linda) Showers; his grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew, and Jessica Baldwin and Brittany and Jordan McCowan; his great-grandson, Landon; his many beloved nieces and nephews; and his dear friend Bob Benjamin.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11am at Calvary Baptist Church, 500 N Howard St. in Webberville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 2pm until 4pm and again from 6pm until 8pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Williamston Chapel, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston. Interment will take place at Alchin Farm Cemetery in Webberville, Michigan.
