Bernard McGuire, of Williamston, Michigan, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. On October 31, 2022, surrounded by his family, he joined his wife, Carol McGuire, in eternal peace.
Bernie was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Mary and Bernard C. McGuire on October 15, 1936. He attended Alma High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the Navy and later went on to earn a business degree from Northwood University leading to a successful 28-year career at Oldsmobile. He married Carol on October 23, 1959.
Bernie is survived by his daughter, Teresa Vaught; son, Michael McGuire; granddaughters, Michelle Kittendorf and Lisa (Billy) Vaught-Curtin; great-grandchildren, Quintin, Calvin, Caden, Conor and Ethan; sisters, Mary (Al) Jack and Sue Camp; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends and golf companions.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol; brothers, Jerry (Barb) and John (Mary Ann) McGuire; and parents, Mary and Bernard McGuire.
Bernie will be remembered for his quick wit, his pride in his family, and his love for golf. His bright smile and infectious laugh will be missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Bernie’s life will take place at a later date.
