"Bob" was born in Gary, Indiana to Alice (Marbach) Schumacher and Anthony Schumacher on November 25, 1931. Bob is predeceased by his beloved wife, Anne; son, Alfred Wayne Peppers, Jr.; older brother, Richard Schumacher; and nephew, Richard Schumacher, Jr.
After serving in the Army, he graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for the Martin Co. (now Lockheed Martin) and was instrumental in making a viable fuel system for the Gemini Titan project.
He then worked at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Research and Development. Having to travel to Denver, Colorado to do blast testing, he reconnected with who would become his beloved wife, Anne (Buck) Peppers. They were married on June 29, 1972.
He gathered two step children in the bargain, a Son, Alfred Wayne Peppers Jr., and a Daughter, Cynthia (Peppers) Marshall. The word "step" quickly fell away as he became the loving Dad who was missing in their lives.
Bob leaves behind his daughter, Cynthia and her husband, Jeffery E. Marshall; four grandsons, Stephen Werneke, Thomas Werneke (Jenevieve), Brandon Marshall (Sarah) and Douglas Marshall; and four great-grandsons, Kody, Aiden, Stephen and Bentley.
