Mike was born on February 15, 1974, to Ann and Allen Hyman in Freehold, New Jersey, joining big sister Pam. After graduation from Hightstown High School in 1992, Mike went on to study English at Rutgers University. Following graduation, Mike attended the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at The College of William & Mary.
After graduating with a Juris Doctorate in 1999, Mike moved to Fredericksburg, Virginia where he began his career in law. It was while working in Fredericksburg that Mike met Suzanne Grable. Mike and Suzanne returned to Williamsburg in 2005, married in 2006, and went on to have two beautiful boys, Samuel and Andrew.
Mike continued to practice law in Williamsburg and surrounding areas for many years, approaching his work with respect, dedication, and an amazing sense of humor. As a supporter of his local community, Mike was a member of the Williamsburg Bar Association, the Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce, and the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed all Philadelphia area sports teams, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Without question, Mike’s passion in life were his relationships with the people who were important to him. The many roles Mike embraced—faithful son, amazing brother, supportive husband, loving father, wonderful in-law, tremendous uncle, and loyal friend—were his greatest accomplishments and his lasting legacy. He will be remembered as wise, witty, compassionate, and downright hilarious. He will be greatly missed.
Mike is survived by his wife of almost 18 years, Suzanne Grable; his sons, Sam and Andrew; mother, Ann Hyman; sister Pamela Levine (Danny); nephew and niece, Harrison and Grace Brodeen; in-laws Laura and Dan Grable; brothers-in-law Doug (Jen); Jerry (Teresa); Stephen (Tricia); and nephews and niece Brayden, Jack, Lily, and Cole Grable.
