She was a longtime resident of Ft. Myers, Florida, but relocated to Williamsburg when hurricane Ian destroyed her home.
Born in Wisconsin to Patrick and Ethel Campbell, Carol was one of six siblings. When she was a teenager, the family moved to New Jersey, where she later married and raised her children.
After having a family of seven children, she went back to school and earned her RN. Carol worked as a nurse for many years in Freehold, New Jersey, before retiring to Ft. Myers, Florida.
She was an active volunteer with the Women’s Auxiliary at the American Legion, Post 274, as well as the Women’s Guild at Church of the Ascension in Ft. Myers, where she was a member of the parish. She really enjoyed spending her time trying her luck at the casino.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Albert E. Prisk, sons, John Prisk and William Prisk, daughter, Joan Benson, and granddaughter, Ashley Washam.
She is survived by her children, Mary Sheridan (Harold), Patrick Prisk, Jeanne Perkins (William), and Judy Prisk. She was also known as "Granny" to her 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Carol will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, Virginia 23188.
