Barbara M. Averitt

Barbara graduated from Deering High School in Portland, ME and junior college from Endicott. She was previously a Librarian for the U.S. Gov’t in D.C. More recently she worked with her daughter Meredith at the Toano Animal Clinic. She was a member of Bruton Parish Episcopal Church and used to volunteer at the Christmas Shop at Bruton, and at Williamsburg Community Hospital. She was a member of Langley Kennel Club and the Metropolitan Washington Dachshund Club. She also enjoyed needle and paper crafts, especially card making.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Lyn Meredith Averitt, DVM and her two favorite Dachshunds, Sera and Topher.

A memorial service will be held at Bruton Parish Episcopal Church, 201 Duke of Gloucester St., Williamsburg, on Wednesday, October 8 at 3:30 PM. Interment will follow in the Bruton Parish Cemetery.
