Henry Patrick Quinn, lovingly referred to as Pat by most, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, April 16, 2023. Born the eldest of seven children to the late Alfred and Hildegard (Libel) Quinn in Markville, Minnesota on Saint Patrick’s Day 1931. At the early age of fourteen Pat became the patriarch of his family when his father was tragically killed in a construction accident.
After the passing of his father, Pat went right to work to help his mother to support the family. He became a very hardworking, accomplished man. At age 16 he became a jockey and raced at tracks up and down the East Coast. When he and Joanne began raising a family he settled in Ohio. He became a blacksmith/farrier and with hard work and determination, he became one of the best. Pat was exceptionally good with his hands as well as his mind. He became an expert woodworker. He built everything from grandfather clocks, mantle clocks, and mind teaser puzzles which he would make and give away as gifts. One of his personal gifts to his friends was his “toaster tongs” to make sure no one got burnt or hurt getting their morning toast. You knew Pat truly loved you when you received one of his special woodworking creations. With being born on St. Patrick’s Day Pat became the Quinn family’s very own leprechaun. This is a title that he wore proudly.
Pat loved his family. Nothing made him happier and prouder. He leaves to grieve in his passing, his loving wife of 68 Years Joanne (Hegyi) Quinn. Children; Patrick A. Quinn and wife Rebecca, Dennis W. Quinn and wife Cheryl, Tamara J. Quinn, Kelly M. Quinn: Grandchildren; Kathleen, Allison, John, Brittany, Rachel, Taylor, four great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sheryl A. Quinn.
