He was baptized on December 6, 1927, at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Chicago and was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Wichita at the time of his death.
Bill was raised on a small farm near Audubon, Iowa during the Depression. He enlisted in the Navy, right after high school in 1946, and later, graduated from Wichita University with a degree in geology in 1953. He married Billie G. Courter on October 31, 1953, and raised four children. He spent his life in Wichita, Kansas, working as a petroleum geologist. He never retired.
Bill loved to play and coach sports and stayed physically active until near the end. He was the best Dad in the world.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert; his parents; sister, Beverly; grandson, Christian; and wife, Billie. He is survived by his siblings, Dick, Bernice, and Tom; his children, Skip, Kathy, Carol (Mike) and Bob (Maria); 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 842 N. Tyler Road, Wichita, KS 67212 at 10:30 am.
