Vicki Lyn Churchman, age 76, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Vicki was born September 6, 1945 in Arkansas City, Kansas, the daughter of the late Ralph James and Mary Evelyn (Brickey) Warren.
Vicki spent her early years on a cattle ranch near Silverdale, just a few miles from Arkansas City, Kansas where she was born. Her family later moved to Arkansas City, and then to Wichita.
Vicki graduated from Wichita High School East in 1963, and earned her Bachelor's Degree, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, and teaching certificate from Grinnell College in 1967. Vicki was a lifelong learner, completing her Journalism Certification from Fort Hays State University in 1975, and over 60 credit hours of additional journalism and computer technology training.
Vicki’s professional career centered on education. Journalism, and it's inevitable late-night deadlines, fosters a unique learning environment and special teacher-student bond.
