Teresa A. Martinez

Martinez, Teresa Alaniz, 103, passed away peacefully, December 3, 2016. Teresa was born in La Piedad, Michoacán, on October 20, 1913 to Romona Zaragoza and Francisco Alaniz. She was the last of 12 children. Teresa was married to Felipe Martinez and together they had eight children. There are over 150 descendants from Teresa and Felipe. Preceded in death by her second oldest son, Frank Martinez and grandson, Richard "Ricky" Martinez. She will be missed by her children, Paul Martinez, Helen Washington, Phillip (Tina) Martinez, Cruz (Grace) Martinez, Richard Martinez, Elaine (Richard) Bowman, and Betty (Frank) Rodriguez; several nieces and nephews were blessed by her influence; and left to carry on her legacy are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Family visitation will be 5pm to 7pm Monday, December 5, 2016. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 6 at 2pm both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. A reception will follow at Indian Southern Baptist Church, 1550 E. Denker St., Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Indian Southern Baptist Church.
