Teresa J. Kelzer

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Teresa June Kelzer, of Wichita, Kansas, on April 1, 2025 at the age of 71. Teresa was born in Newton, Kansas, and spent her childhood years there before moving to Wichita, Kansas with her family.

She was a Licensed Social Worker who touched the lives of countless youth with her warmth and understanding. Teresa was a loving wife to her husband, Edwin for 27 years, and they were married on the seventh anniversary of their first date on May 12, 1999. They spent 33 years together. She was also a devoted mother to her children, Sharene and Joseph, and was the best mom a kid could ask for.

Teresa had a zest for life and loved spending time with family. She also loved travelling, working on puzzles and watching Turner Classic Movies. Teresa and Edwin traveled extensively, visiting the west coast, and exploring Niagara Falls. Teresa always wanted to see New York City, and she did - twice! She won a trip to be on the Bethenny Frankel show. She got to see the wharf at San Francisco with her husband by her side.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin; her children/stepchildren, Sharene (Richard), Joseph, Adam (Robin), and Ed (Kelly). She is also survived by her grandchildren, BryAnna, Christian, Jaila, Rosalie, Quinn, Melissa, Brandon, and Jackson; and her great-grandchildren, Brilyn and Terrance.

While the family is truly sad that she is gone, she would not allow them to have a funeral for her, but to celebrate her life. Teresa was the type of person that celebrated life every day, and she would want all of her family and friends to be there to see her off on her final adventure.

Family and friends that wish to visit can do so on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 9:00 am at Hillside Funeral Home West, located at 2929 West 13th Street North, Wichita, KS 67203. Her celebration of life will follow at 10:00 am that day at the same location. Committal will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, located 6231 W. 47th St. S., Wichita, KS 67215 at 12:30 pm that day.
