She graduated from Beeler High School in 1954 and although she was offered a full ride scholarship to Fort Hays State University she decided to attend Saint Mary of the Plains in Dodge City, Kansas where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She served as an OR Nurse for Via Christi St. Francis for 45 years, retiring in 1997. After retirement she worked at West Acres Bowl and Ann's Fashions and in her spare time she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
She met the love of her life, Bob Lipsey, on a blind date and together they had two sons, Craig and Mark. Together they enjoyed spending time with friends, camping, boating, and attending kids sporting events.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Beulah, and husband Bob.
She leaves behind her two sons, Craig (Denise) Lipsey, and Mark (Melanie) Lipsey; four grandchildren, Justin, Ciara, Dalton and Olivia; one great-granddaughter, Memphis; one sister Roberta (Bobbi) Shay and many nieces, family and friends.

A visitation will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 6 pm- 8 pm and a Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 at 1 pm both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. A reception following service then graveside service at 3 pm at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
