Roy L Marshall

Marshall, Roy Lawrence, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away early Sunday morning, September 26, 2010. He had been in ill health for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother and sister. Survivors include his wife Kala, of the home, son Rory and daughter-in-law Rochelle of Blue Springs, MO, sister-in-law Tammy Wise of Wichita, two grandchildren, Amanda Escobar of Warrensburg, MO and Grant Marshall of Odessa, MO plus four great-grandchildren whom he loved very much. Roy was the second child born to his parents, Turner Lawrence Marshall and Jewell Pauline Phillips Marshall. The family moved frequently when he was growing up and he would often tell people that he was from “everywhere”. He served in the 310th Army Infantry during WWII, coming to Wichita after his honorable discharge. He worked for Boeing for over forty years, retiring in 1990 as a production engineering manager. Roy was a Master Mason, a member of Albert Pike Masonic Lodge, a 32 degree Mason in the Wichita Consistory and a member of the Midian Shrine. Roy loved working on his home and yard and would frequently be seen maintaining his lawn. He will be missed by his friends and family. Viewing Thursday 12 to 8 with family receiving 6 to 7 pm and funeral service is 1:00 pm Friday at Resthaven Mortuary. The family requests donation be made to the Kidney Foundation in lieu of flowers.
