I learned a lot about being a man, a father, and grandfather sitting in the duck blind with Rodger and Jim.  He loved his family dearly, and he was ready to meet his Lord.  I will miss him, but at the same time, I will keep him with me always.

Dear Family,
I wanted to let you know that when Rodger would come to Lakepoint to see his parents he would always come and visit with me.One of the proudest days was when a family member bought him a big Harley. He was so proud in his gentle way about this bike.
I never heard a harsh word from his mouth and he will always be a gentle giant to me.

I first met Roger in the seventh grade at Mead Junior High. We very quickly became close friends. Even at that young age Roger was years ahead of me in woodworking and hunting skills. He could tie the best trout and bass flies and he taught me how to fly cast. Everything Roger did was well thought out and done with extreme quality. I longed to be like him. Of course he took me duck hunting several times and he loved the sound of the birds just as the sky was turning from night to day. What a great friend. I will be praying for your family Roger. I am very sorry to hear about Roger, I always had a great time when I would go to the Waynoka Sand Dunes with Rodger,Gary,Shirley,and Richard. There are very few men that treat people as good as he did. We lost a good one, and so did the Great Outdoors!

Jackie,  I don't know if you remember us, but we bred our female lab (Maxi) with your male lab (Tug) back in 2005.  I believe Jimmy meant Rodger thru constuction work.  And they both like sharing their stories/love for  waterfowling.  We were so sorry to read of Rodger's passing.  We just wanted you and your family to know we are lifting you up in prayer during this difficult time.  May our Precious Lord grant you the strength to get thru this.

I am Roger's  cousin and I'm so sorry about his passing.  His mother Shirley is my first cousin, our dads were brothers.  I remember Roger as a little boy, but did get to visit with him a couple years ago. May God be with his family and Gary , Shirley and Richard.

Dear Family, Don't know all of you as well as we do Gary, Shirley, and Richard,  but my family and I grew up in Ponca, Ar where Gary and Shirley are from as well as their families.  My mom and dad were their best friends (OTT and Almarine Young).  We looked so forward to their visits back home. We would all enjoy all the meaness and jokes that Gary had mastered from his last visits.  Our thoughts and prayers have been with you guys for sometime, but they will continue to be as you travel through this rough patch in life.  He was always so postive about everthing on his last visits, and we know he is at peace now.  Please let Gary and Shirley know we still love them, if they are having a good day.  Since my dad passed away just 1 yr. ago on mar. 1, with the same problems as Gary I know some of what you guys are going through. May God Bless and keep all of you.  Linda Kaye and Jim House

My avenue of knowing Rodger was in the avenue of labs and hunting. In many sports someone that makes a big positive impact, is inducted into the Hall of Fame. Rodger would be that person in waterfowling.  Rodger had taught me like many, the finer things in waterfowling.  He was a priceless mentor in the training of my lab and into my addiction for waterfowling.  I was always so excited when I saw him in the marsh and get to visit with him.  I respected him as many did Babe Ruth.  He was so ingenuitive, that he could make a NASA scientist look like a grade schooler, it was amazing!  I will share stories and teach things he taught me to my son and will never forget him. So sorry for the family and his closest friends loss, I know it is heartbreaking.  You are all in my prayers.
