Reyna Guadalupe Batrez

Reyna Guadalupe Batrez, age 23, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from injuries she sustained in car wreck that occurred on Tuesday, July 23 in rural Cowley County. Reyna had made the choice to be an organ donor prior to her passing. Her family was able to follow through with her wishes with an Honor Walk on Friday evening, where they prepared Reyna for the donation of life to others.

She was born on July 10, 2001 in Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Kristy Benivamonde and Jose Guadalupe Batrez.

She was a graduate of Chester Lewis High School, Wichita.

She was preceded in death by her first love, Thomas O'Donnell, grandma, Hazel Benivamonde; sister-in-law, Cristal Ramos; cousins, Sean Gallegos and Ramiro Valdez.

Survivors include her mom, Kristy Benivamonde; father, Jose Guadalupe Batrez; siblings, Alyssa Benivamonde, Jose "Junior" Batrez, Cheyenne Rodriguez and Dallas Benivamonde; nephews, Santiago and Zariano Granillo, Ezeikel Batrez, Octavio Cerventes; her grandparents, Beatrice Batrez and Felipe Salas; her Ride or Die, Ivyana Benivamonde; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1; funeral service 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 2, both at Hillside Funeral Home West, 2929 W. 13th Street North, Wichita.

Donations may be made to Hillside Funeral Home West to help support the family with funeral expenses.
