He was my City Traffic Engineer as my first job out of WVU Graduate School in Morgantown, WV.

I was sorry to read of your loss,my father, Charles Bell who passed away in '78 spoke many times of Mr. Graves in their association with American Legion,that he was a good man & a patriot. I know he would have wanted me to acknowledge Mr. Graves. They're the Greatest Generation!

Uncle Paul was one of my favorite Uncles.  He loved to tell jokes he would make you feel like you were someone when something went wrong, he would always have words of encouragement when you needed them most.  Uncle Paul I will miss you so very much I love you.

To the immediate family and to the employee's of the City of Wichita (Traffic Engineering), I wish to extend my warmest sympathy. I am privileged to have known Paul as a friend, boss, and as a member of VFW Aux (post 112). Paul hired me in 1973 in the Traffic Engineering field and with his support I moved on and advanced in the field through 2007. I hope we may all find comfort in our many special memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Paul became a personal friend and helped me with information on your Graves family as I was writing the Graves History. The two OU homecoming reunions have always been a highlight of my life. I remember sitting arouud after the game and just remembering experinces of growing up in a Graves household. Those visits hold a special place in my heart as well as the time I drove up from Stillwater to visit your dad just a few years ago. May you feel good for your help with your dad in his last days.
I think Paul and I hit it off partly because of our shared experiences in the Navy. He will always live in my memory.

Paul became my big Brother when he married my Sister, Billie when I was about 10 or 11, he became an important person in our large family, got along with all of us, welcomed all of us, I even stayed with Billie and Paul in the prefab at OU, in Norman,OK., the apts there and in a trailer there. At that time I remember going with him to the Donkey Baseball games, watching him hit the ball, jump on the Donkey and go round the bases, if the Donkey co-operated! We lived near Billie and Paul for a while in Calif. and had many family gatherings, some years ago we moved closer to Wichita to be able to visit  for the last 30 years. He was loved by all of us and already missed so much!Love to our Nieces, Cathy, Paula & Linda & families. Our prayers are with you all.

We remember Uncle Paul mostly as children.We remember when he and Aunt Billie would come out for their vacation from Kansas.We would all go to Disneyland and spend the day and nights, we all had a ball.He was such fun to be around.(Jean) I remembered him with his pipe the most and sitting watching the boxing match on T.V. with Uncle Bill, Uncle Eddy and my dad Fred Dean and grandpa Hacker.Those will always be memories to me.(Janet)I remember Uncle Paul bringing parking  meters from Kansas to all his sister and brother n laws in Ca. My Mom and Dad had it in their house forever and now it has been handed down to my son Mathew, and I'm sure that he will keep it for many years to come and some day hand it down to his son. We will always have you in our hearts Uncle Paul, we love you.

Paul was such a good friend not only my brother n law. We have known each other for many many years.He was the best husband to my sister Bellie, he took care of her when she needed him most and never ever did you hear him complain about anything, never raised his voice to her, he was just that loving caring man and father to his three girls.I will miss him dearly.

I worked summer job and part time during school year, 1961-62, in Traffic Engineering Department while attending University of Wichita. Great experience. Remember Mr. Graves to be very personable and great to work for. Department was run very well. I wish all of family the best during this difficult time.
