Pastor Alfred Reginald Brown Sr. better known as “Al” first born son to Deacon Willie and Missionary Sister Estella Brown. Born April 11th, 1950, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday, September 25th, 2023.
During his youthful life, Alfred was a member and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Alfred attended Lincoln High School during the years of segregation. After the integration of schools, he went on to graduate from Holdenville High School in 1969; where he was inducted in the Holdenville High School Hall of Fame.
Alfred was very talented. He received awards in vocal, music, sports, and academics. After High School graduation, he moved to California for a while. From there he relocated to Wichita, Kansas where he lived and met the love of his life Bishop Shirley M Brown for over 30 years, until his death.
Alfred was ordained as a minister on July 27th, 1997. During that time, he became Senior Pastor of God’s Love Always House of Prayer, a nondenominational church in Wichita, Kansas.
Pastor Alfred was known as a jack of all trades. He could fix anything and loved teaching you how to fix things too. But more than anything he loved to preach.
Pastor Alfred was preceded in death by both parents. Brothers: Merle Brown, Harold Brown, Kenneth, and Leonard C. Brown. Sisters: Stella B. O’Guinn, Claretta N. Reese, Margaret H. Brady, Elzora Cramer, Beverly Brissett, and Frankie C. Brown. Son: Michael “Buffy” Smith, and grandson Elias Powell.
Pastor Alfred leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Bishop Shirley M. Brown, Sons: Alfred R Brown Jr. of Stockton, California (mother deceased Diane Brown), Carlos (Jodi) Smith, of Wichita, Kansas. Daughters: Jade (Steven) Jordan of Sioux Falls South Dakota, Darla Mitchell, Toni Smith, and Patience Smith all of Wichita, Kansas. Brothers: Reverend Robert Brown of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Reverend Floyd E. Brown, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Reverend Billy Brown of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Sisters: Willa M Brown of Vallejo, California, Brenda A Lewis of Bakersfield, California, Shelly L Parker, of Bowie, Maryland, Liz Campbell of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Willy Joyce Webb of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, along with a host of grands, great-grands, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, as well as extended family and friends.
