Blunk, Mildred Irene (Farabough), 91, of Wichita, KS went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 19, 2019. Mildred "Millie" was born the daughter of Dow and Agnes Renetta Farabough on October 20, 1928 in Nardin, Oklahoma. Mildred and Donald Blunk were united in marriage on June 19, 1954 in Nardin, Oklahoma. She graduated from Blackwell High School and received a Bachelors degree in education from Central State College(Edmond, OK) in 1950. After college her first job was teaching elementary education in Fairfax, OK. She continued teaching elementary school in Wichita, KS through the 1955 school year. Shortly afterwards, she decided to stay home and raise 4 children; occasionally taking time to substitute teach in the Wichita school system. Later as her children grew up and left home she took a job in the bakery at Dillon's Food Store. She worked faithfully from 1979 until 1993, when she retired. Mildred was a long time member in the fellowship at Wichita Bible Church; and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Herbert Farabough, Wesley Farabough, LeRoy Farabough, Robert Farabough and Ernest Farabough. Survivors include her husband Donald Blunk; daughters Twyla (Blunk) Unruh, Diana (Blunk) Jones, and Mary (Blunk) Fager; son James "Jimmie" Blunk; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2 pm on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Wichita Bible Church, 633 S. Woodlawn, Wichita KS 67218 (visitation will be 1 hour prior). Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita.
