Well I just got the message that the guest book will be closing soon.  I thought I would come into it for one last entry.  Cam It's hard to believe that over a year has gone by since Mike passed.  I want you to know that I think of him everyday, morning and night because his photograph is on my bedroom dresser reminding me each time I see it to try to be a better person.  I miss him so much and often talk to him when I look at the photograph.  It seems to give me some solace doing so.  Maybe this will be the last entry into Mike's book but it won't be the last time for memories to occupy the minds of the many he impressed.  I only wish I knew who his choice would be for the Republican nomination for the 2016 Presidential election because I know he would be deep in the thick of it if he was still here.  God be with you and the Petey.

Cam, you don't know me but I know you and Petey from your wonderful precious husband.  I manage the Occidental building where Mike officed and he was my favorite tenant.  Even when he was not feeling well, he always had a smile and a story to tell.  He always told me how lucky he was to have you and Petey in his life.  I am so sorry for your loss. Cam, your husband was the best! He taught me a lot over the seven years he was the prosecutor for Belle Plaine. I know he loved you and Petey with every fiber of his soul and devoted to the Masonic Lodge and his law profession. My prayers are with you.

Momma and Petey....I feel I know you by all the stories Mikey told me about you two.  I admire him so much.  As Lela Albright said earlier, he would always come in the office and start the conversation with, "Did you hear the one about....?"  Loved his jokes and stories.  Several years ago he brought me some of your homemade stuffing around the holidays.  That was the BEST stuffing I have ever had.  It was really sweet of him to do that.  I still have his message on my voicemail.  I play it every so often.  If I can do anything at all to help you at all, now or in the future, please call me.  Prayers for all of you.

Dear Cam:  My thoughts and prayers are with you. I had many great times with Mike over the years --- deer hunting, at Lodge, and as a fellow attorney and friend.  And while you know better than anyone his gifts and his talents, I must say his ability to tell a story or a joke was as masterful and entertaining as any person I've ever met --- and I think Mark Twain and Clarence Darrow would agree.  I am so glad that I had a chance to visit with you and Mike earlier this year when he came to Winchester Hiram Lodge #21 to present the lithographs and to visit one final time. Please remember that his smile, his warmth and his love for life shall live on with his passing and in the memories of any who had the privilege to know him.  And as for me, that I am grateful to count myself among them.  Sincerely,

We are so sorry that Mike has passed.  Mike never let us down at family gatherings; he would always have a good story to share with us.  We will miss him.  Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mike was an excellent attorney and a true gentleman.  He always had a smile even when I knew he was hurting.  I will definitely miss him.

Cam,  I am so sorry for your loss.  Michael was such a wonderful man. Mike would stop in my office at the Ct House and he would always say did you hear the one about, then he would tell me a joke before going to court. I felt I knew you and Petey personally by the way he fondly spoke of you.

Michael you were without question one of the best men I have ever had the privilege of knowing.  I always considered you one of my very best personal friends.  A man of honor and integrity you were.  Intelligent with an answer or at least an opinion on any question or subject.  I always knew I could count on you if I had a group gathering and was afraid no one would have anything to talk about because you  always filled that void.  Our personal times together with Harry hunting and enjoying our love of firearms together are always memories that I will forever remember and cherish thinking about.  Oh my and what a Mason.  Mike you mesmerized me with your gift of delivery with the ritual work.  You were of course a bit challenged when you moved from Kansas to Virginia but it certainly didn't take you long to pick up the slight differences in the work.  Your easy going personality was one that I wish had rubbed off on me more.  Organized to a fault.  I've never seen anyone more put together than you were when it came to being organized let alone an attorney.  Lastly one thing I heard you say on 2 or 3 occasions over the past 20 years that has always impressed me because you don't hear too many men say it outwardly let alone mean it with the complete sincerity you did but that was when you said "The best day of my life was when I married Cam"!  Mike, Cheryl and I love you and Cam so much and will always remember all the good times at your home at Thanksgiving and with just visiting at various time during the year.  In both our lives our dogs were our children and we all had a big connection with our love of animals.  Now you have crossed over to a better side and are with Tashie, and Perky and all your family and your hundreds of friends who crossed over before you. I hope you will be there waiting for me when It's my turn to make the trip. Mike thank you for being such a positive influence in my life and being the best friend a person could ever expect to have.

Angels come to us in many forms, you came to us a Brother, and now you have been called home.  I know that I benefitted from your time here, in the brief time that I knew you.  It was my pleasure and privilege to have known you as a friend and a Brother.  I have no doubt that your are now truly sitting in the East telling stories of your days in law enforcement!  My condolences to his family AND Petey, for all of God's creatures who knew him will miss him now.

A great man, Mason, and social servant has moved on.  I loved visiting with you and the stories you told during our brief interactions at lodge.  The words, "You will always be remembered" are more than compassionate sentiment.  As the WM when I was raised as a MM, you are permanently etched in my mind and my heart. Thank You.

We were so glad to see you this summer.  We have missed you ever since you left the area and your tales with which you entertained us on the drive to Alexandria, some of which were about you growing up and your truck driving days, but mostly centered around your Masonic experiences, always something nice to say about people.  Nina says your heart was as big as you and she always identified you to other members of the Masonic fraternity as being the only person who talked more than her.  We will miss you and our love and hugs to Cam.

Mike you will be missed. I already miss you, and I enjoyed every minute that I was able to spend with you. I loved you because you were a person of integrity, compassion, love and honor. The world was a better place with you in it and now heaven is better. Mike, I love you very much.

I will miss your factual stories, the ones you experienced and the ones you researched.  Your participation at lodge as well as the degree work was as inspiration to many, especially to me.
